Parents of children with personal experience (PPE) of mental health issues can make an active contribution to the research of Pathline network members. We are open and welcoming to parents/carers who wish to become members of our Parent/Carer PPE network.
Parents can volunteer to participate in a range of activities to help members with their research on child and adolescent mental health through 1:1 or group interviews (in-person or online), or by giving feedback on written documents or audiovisual materials. Parents/carers are reimbursed for their time through vouchers or payments.
One example research activity is this illustrated poster and accompanying information booklet for parents and carers on puberty and the mental health of children and young people. Parents were consulted with about the written content for these resources.
